(Also known as Tomahawk), it is a bittering hop bred and selected from the Hopunion breeding program. It’s orgin is owned by HUSA-CEZ, LLC, a joint venture between Charles E. Zimmerman and Hopunion USA, Inc., making it a patened hop. It has been considered similar to Zeus. Tomahawk® is a bittering hop,first bred by Charles Zimmermann. It is the first commercially grown "Super Alpha" variety. In 1998 it contributed to 11% of the USA hop crop. Grown and plugged right here in the United States, these hop plugs are the freshest available. Our hops are kept frozen at 32 degrees F before being plugged and once they are plugged, they are vacuum sealed in oxygen / light barrier bags and refrozen. Our bags are labeled with the crop year, plugging date, and harvest alpha.
