Description - Mainly used for its aromatic properties, and also for its bittering properties due to its lower co-humulone content. A small tight cone, with Floral and Citrusy Aroma. Somewhat of a Cascade type.
Wt. - ½ oz per plug, 1 oz, 2 oz and 1 lb packages
Use - American Ales, IPA''s.
Possible Substitutions - Cascade, Centennial, possibly Chinook, Ahtanum
Alpha Acid - 8.0-11.0%
Origin/History - Amarillo® is an aroma-type cultivar of recent origin, discovered and introduced by Virgil Gamache Farms Inc.
Grown and plugged right here in the United States, these hop plugs are the freshest available. Our hops are kept frozen at 32 degrees F before being plugged and once they are plugged, they are vacuum sealed in oxygen / light barrier bags and refrozen. Our bags are labeled with the crop year, plugging date, and harvest alpha.
