Description - Used mainly for its aromatic properties. Mild, delicate, English-type aroma. A small, light, and fluffy cone. Very popular with Ale Breweries in the U.S.

Use - All English-Style Beers, especially all Bitters and Pale Ales, Belgian-Style Ales, Barley Wine.

Origin/History - Golding is a group of aroma-type cultivars originating in England. Over the decades, the group has been changed and widened. Mostly they have been named after villages in East Kent, (Petham, Rothersham, Canterbury, Eastwell) or hop farmers, who grew them (Amos's Early Bird, Cobbs). English Goldings grown in East Kent, are a premium hop, called East Kent Golding and should not be confused with U.K. Goldings, which are grown in other parts such as Kent, Worcestershire, Hampshire and Herefordshire. The cultivar grown in the USA (Oregon and Washington State) is a Canterbury Golding. Although, the Genuine long-established East Kent Golding variety group was imported from England. And started by Hopunion in the U.S. in 1973.
Grown and plugged right here in the United States, these hop plugs are the freshest available. Our hops are kept frozen at 32 degrees F before being plugged and once they are plugged, they are vacuum sealed in oxygen / light barrier bags and refrozen. Our bags are labeled with the crop year, plugging date, and harvest alpha.
